Basic Calling Features
Caller Id with Name - Uses a screen on a display either on your phone or other Caller ID device. It lets you see who's calling before you answer by showing the name and telephone number of the caller. It also keeps a record of the names and numbers of the people who called - even those who did not leave a message.
To Use - When you receive a call, the caller's name and number will appear after the first ring - unless the caller has chosen to block it or the number is unavailable.

Note: Requires service from phone company to receive Caller ID for calls arriving via existing phone line. Always works for Internet calls.

Call Waiting - Signals you that a call is coming in while you on another call. This is separate from the Call Waiting service provided by your phone company. It allows you to receive a call from your existing phone line while on a call placed over the Internet, or vice versa.
To Use - While on the phone, a beep tone alerts you to another call. Press and release the flash button to find out who is calling. Press and release the button again to return to your original call. To turn off Call Waiting for a single call, press *70 before making the call. To turn off Call Waiting during a call you must use Three-Way Calling, press and quickly release the flash button, dial *70 and press and release the button again to return to your call. See Three-Way Calling for details. To turn off Call Waiting permanently, press *56. You will hear a confirmation tone signaling your request to cancel Call Waiting has been accepted. To turn Call Waiting back on, press *57.

Note: Requires disabling of Call Waiting service from the phone company. PhoneGnome is not compatible with Call Waiting service on your existing phone line.

3-Way Calling - Lets you talk to two people at different phone numbers at the same time.
To Use - Dial a number, press and release the flash button to get a second dial tone, then dial the second number. Press and release the button again to connect the two calls together. Be sure to hang up for 5 seconds between calls if you don't want to make a 3 way call. 3-Way Calling allows three PhoneGnome users to coduct a totally free 3-way conference call.

Note: Requires activation of Internet Calling Service to conduct 3-way conference with more than one one PSTN user.

Call Forwarding - Lets you send your calls wherever you go, even your cell phone.
To Use - To turn on, press *72. You will hear an alternate dial tone. Enter the number you want your calls forwarded to. You will hear an acknowledgement tone. Hang up and calls to your number will ring to the forwarded destination. To turn off, press *73. While forwarding is active, when you lift the receiver of your PhoneGnome phone, you will hear a multiple tone indicator to remind you that forwarding is active. Speed Dial - Lets you automatically dial frequently called numbers with the touch of two buttons.
To Use - To program, press *74. Dial the single digit code under which the number is to be stored (2-9). Dial the complete number to be stored just as if you were going to dial it yourself Listen for Confirmation tone (two short beeps) Hang up or repeat the sequence.
Call Return - Dials back your last caller automatically when you can't get to the phone in time. Or, when you don't click over on a Call Waiting beep, use *69 to return the call.
To Use - Press *69. If the line is free, your call will be completed.

Note: To use the telephone company's *69 feature, dial ## then *69.

Attended Call Transfer - Lets you transfer a caller to another phone.
To Use - While in a call with the party to be transferred: Press the switch hook or flash button on the phone to place the party on hold Listen for three short tones followed by dial tone. Dial the number to which you will transfer the caller Stay on the line until the called number answers Announce the call. Press the switch hook or flash button adding the held party to the call Hang up to connect the two parties and transfer the call.

Unattended Call Transfer - Lets you transfer a caller to another phone (sometimes called Blind Transfer).
To Use - While in a call with the party to be transferred: Press the switch hook or flash button on the phone to place the party on hold. Press *98 then diall the number to which you will transfer the caller. The call is transferred when a complete number is entered. You will hear a short confirmation tone, followed by regular dial tone.

Anonymous Call Blocking - Lets you block incoming calls that do not reveal the caller's Caller ID.
To Use - To Activate Press *77. To deactivate, Press *87. See also Telemarketer Screening for more advanced screening options.
Do Not Disturb - Lets you block all incoming calls.
To Use - To Activate Press *78. When Do Not Disturb is activated, you can place calls, but can not receive calls. Incoming calls will be diverted directly to Voicemail (if activated). To deactivate, Press *79.
