DialTone 2.0 replaces the boring buzz of traditional dial tone with a speech-based interactive dialog. Instead, you are greeted by name, and asked what you would like to do. You can say the name of any of the contacts in your PhoneGnome address book, and they will be called! The resulting call will be made using whatever telephone service you have subscribed to (e.g. your local PSTN telephony company, or a PhoneGnome-enabled Internet telephone service provider). Of course, you can still use your telephone keypad to dial any phone number.
