SoftGnome Remote Access
SoftGnome is an optional PhoneGnome feature.

Whether across the room, across town, or halfway around the globe, SoftGnome lets any PhoneGnome owner use their home telephone service just as if using an extension phone at home. Use SoftGnome just for placing calls, or have it ring wherever you are at the same time as your home phone.

To make it easier to get started right away, SoftGnome includes free software to turn any PC or laptop into a fully-functioning telephone. The included SoftGnome software is a screen-based interface that works just like your telephone keypad. You can make a call, receive a call, and access advanced PhoneGnome features, just as you do using your PhoneGnome enabled phone at home.

Use SoftGnome on your PC to connect via the Internet to your PhoneGnome to make outgoing calls to other PhoneGnome users, to traditional telephone numbers, and to SIP numbers. You can also receive calls dialed to your regular home phone number on your PC using SoftGnome.

Calls placed using SoftGnome are just like calls placed from home: the phone number appears as your regular phone number even though you may be using SoftGnome miles from your home or office. SoftGnome creates a virtual extension of the existing traditional telephone, providing PhoneGnome owners a powerful new capability.

Use Any PC, PDA, or Wireless Handset With SoftGnome

In additon to the free SoftGnome software, SoftGnome also includes all the information necessary to configure a softphone client, PDA, Wi-Fi handset or other Session Initiated Protocol (SIP) capable software or device of your choice.
